Utter cold. Too far I have fallen.
Never to return.
In the cold sea, to the depths of darkness
a chance of light.
A spark, a flicker of flame.
Some point of light.
Some far- off star not quite dimmed.
If, for a moment, some feeling of hope.
A small echo of song that lives still.
A warmth buried deep that threatens to awaken.
The chance endures, memory takes hold.
The first shallow breath is not long alone.
I will remain.

It's really quite nice. There are some amazing views. And the mud baths are absolutely divine. Sure, that planet over there is somewhat cluttered. They are making a pretty big mess of things, but they have some great micro-breweries. Besides, they will most likely be gone soon. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the view.

You can bury it deep. Deny you were ever there. Forget you ever knew. All throughout the changing seasons, all the long years. The fall of great cities. The passing of stars, it remains. Some vague image. A dream of light, of remembrance only just on the edge. Seemingly ready to finally rise up, so vast and complete to cover the worlds. It couldn't have been any clearer, any more real. Then not at all. Only a whisper remains: tomorrow, maybe tomorrow.

I am adrift on a sea of glass.
Am I progressing toward a land of hope?
Am I even moving at all? I float through this lonely fog. Nothing to guide me. No one to lead me.
Are the depths below deeper, farther then the heights above?
I spy a light. It shines from very far off.
Or am I only edging toward some memory lost?

Dropping through sky
Through the glass of the roof
Through the roof of your mouth
Through the mouth of your eye
Through the eye of the needle
It's easier for me to get closer to Heaven
Than ever feel whole again

Foolish confusion, wrapped in your deceit. I care not for your sweet songs of loss. Tell me again about how much you have grown while standing on the necks of the dead. Sing instead about floating in the dark, alone and afraid, though knowing the light is just waiting for you to switch on.
